ACWC's Balus Foundation Grants for Young Artists: Applications available online and at the ACWC. ACWC is accepting applications through May 1, 2008 from individual Wyoming County High School students, for grants to assist in covering costs related to special artistic opportunities taking place through June 30, 2009. Preservation and Access Grants for Stabilizing Humanities Collections - National Endowment for the Humanities. Grants awarded under this program help museums, libraries, archives, and historical organizations preserve their humanities collections through support for improved housing and storage, environmental condition, security, lighting, and fire protection. ELIGIBILITY: State, county and municipal governments; special district governments; public and state controlled institutions of higher education; Federally recognized Native American tribal governments; nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; and private institutions of higher education. Learning in the Arts Grants - The National Endowment for the Arts’ Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth Program offers funding for projects that help children and youth acquire appreciation, knowledge, and understanding of, and skills in, the arts. Projects must provide participatory learning and engagement of students with skilled artists, teachers, and excellent art, and ensure the application of national, state, or local arts education standards. ELIGIBILITY: School-based or community-based projects. FUNDING: Awards range from $5,000 to $150,000. DEADLINE: June 12, 2006. Ambrose Monell Foundation - The mission of the Ambrose Monell Foundation is to aid and contribute to religious, charitable, literary and educational uses and purposes. ELIGIBILITY: The foundation only funds organizations with tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status and does not award grants to individuals. In order to determine if your request matches the interests of the foundation, submit a letter of inquiry. Only organizations whose initial inquiry is accepted will receive a request to submit a full proposal. FUNDING: In the past, grants have ranged from $2,500 to over $500,000. In 2004, grants totaled nearly $10,000,000. DEADLINE: Letters of inquiry may be submitted throughout the year and are reviewed on a continuing basis. Preserve New York Grant Program - Preservation League of New York and New York State Council on the Arts. This program provides funding for historic structure reports, historic landscape reports and cultural resource surveys. The program is not able to provide any capital or "brick or mortar" funding. ELIGIBILITY: Municipalities and not-for-profit organizations. FUNDING: Grants are likely to range between $3,000 and $10,000. DEADLINE: Postmark deadline is May 1, 2006. New York Crafts Artists Program - offers grants of up to $1000 to professional contemporary crafts artists residing in New York State and creating innovative work in clay, fiber, glass, metal or wood. THE NEW YORK STATE MUSIC FUND  www.rockpa.org/music 

Rockefeller Philantrophy Advisors (RPA) is sponsoring a new grant program that will benefit the residents and music field of New York State. RPA is launching The New York State Music Fund, and is issuing a request for applications for music projects taking place throughout the state. The program will support exemplary contemporary music of all genres being created by today’s composers and musicians, The Music Fund will also support school and community-based educational programs, and recording and media dissemination projects that expand access to music for residents in all parts on the state. The Music Fund seeks applicants from a broad range of nonprofit organizations in rural, suburban, and urban areas within New York State. Special emphasis will be on reaching underserved populations.  Funded activities must take place in New York State and benefit New York State residents. Giving Voice Program - Starbucks Foundation. DEADLINE: The next deadline is March 1, 2006, with annual deadlines of September 1 and March 1.Through its Giving Voice program, the Starbucks Foundation will fund programs for youth, ages 6-18, that integrate literacy with personal and civic action in the communities where they live. The Foundation invites letters of inquiry from qualifying organizations that work with underserved youth in one of two areas: 1) Arts & Literacy – programs that innovatively address literacy and learning for the 21st century, provide high standards of excellence in mastering basic skills, and promote youth voices through a variety of venues; and 2) Environmental Literacy – programs that offer place-based approaches to addressing environmental literacy and empower youth to be heroes for a sustainable environment in their own communities.

ELIGIBILITY: Registered, nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that deliver services to youth and address at least one of the program’s action areas.

FUNDING: Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000.

The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation’s Space Program provides visual artists with studio space in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood for one year. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must not presently maintain a studio space in New York City larger than 400 square feet. Americans for the Arts is announcing the establishment of the Americans for the Arts Emergency Relief Fund, a permanent fund developed to provide timely financial assistance to victims of a major disaster for the purpose of helping them rebuild the arts in their community. One hundred percent of relief funds will be distributed directly to local arts agencies for the purpose of assisting with their own recovery and their provision of needed services and funding to nonprofit arts organizations and individual artists, as well as to other cultural relief efforts. Americans for the Arts is initiating this fund with a $100,000 contribution from our reserves to immediately help those assisting with the recovery of their local arts agency or providing needed services and funding to local nonprofit arts groups and individual artists affected in the Gulf Coast states. Americans for the Arts has established this fund in response to the individuals and organizations who want to help local cultural organizations and artists affected by Hurricane Katrina and other disasters but do not know where to direct such donations. The Goodrich Foundation, Inc.
The Goodrich Foundation supports organizations working in arts and culture, education, human services, and civic and community. ELIGIBILITY: Contributions are only made to organizations with 501(c)(3) status. In general, multi-year grants, individuals, private foundations, endowments, churches, fraternities, veterans' groups, political parties, and groups with large expenses are not covered. Programs for Children Grants - Hasbro Children Foundation. The foundation awards grants to support the development and/or expansion of programs for children. ELIGIBILITY: Programs must provide direct services to children under age 13 and serve economically-disadvantaged children and families. FUNDING: Grants range from $500 to $35,000. DEADLINE: Open. Grants for Arts Education and Preservation and Environmental Conservation - The Tiffany and Co. Foundation. The Tiffany & Co. Foundation provides grants to nonprofits committed to arts education and preservation, and environmental conservation. The foundation is seeking proposals in decorative arts and environmental conservation. ELIGIBILITY: To qualify for a grant, organizations must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and maintain a program within the foundation's guidelines. A two- to three-page letter is recommended as an initial approach to the foundation. The foundation does not award money to individuals, organizations that are not 501(c)(3) charities, capital campaigns, operating funds, athletic teams or events, or fund-raising benefits. Grants for Arts, Education and Youth-Oriented Programs - Cooper Tire and Rubber Foundation 
The Cooper Tire and Rubber Foundation was established in 1953, and its fields of interest include museums, arts, elementary and secondary education, higher education, and youth-oriented programs. The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts provides funds on a  project basis to curatorial programs at museums, artists' organizations and other cultural institutions to originate innovative and scholarly presentations of contemporary visual arts. The Foundation also supports efforts to strengthen areas that directly affect the context in which artists work -- such as freedom of artistic expression and equitable access to resources.

The New York Council for the Humanities Mini Grant applications are welcome for public humanities projects. ELIGIBILITY: Any not-for-profit organization or institution with IRS tax exempt status in New York State is eligible to apply for a grant. FUNDING: $250 to $2500. The Martha Boschen Porter Fund, Inc. provides grants to individuals in training, studying, or practicing in the arts, based on financial need.
