"True Beauty"

I was walking through the evergreens
When the snow began to fall
The storm began to come across the land
So I sat and watched it all

Soft winds shook the tree tops
As the snow continued to fall
Flakes became larger and more frequent
And I still I watched it all

I saw a rabbit hop quick to it's hole
Before it closed by the snow which falls
Not quite as quickly here as in the fields
    I have watched it all

Inch upon inch I watched the white out
    As the snow falls
Soft pillows lay upon the trees
As I sat and watched it all

And slowly the flakes lightened
    But the snow still falls
The snow not as fierce, the animals come out to play
I sat and watched them all

How beautiful it was, to see the animals scurry
As the snow continued to fall
The squirrels playing hide and go seek for nuts
As I sat and watched it all

Cardinals flitted around with their mates
    As the snow still falls
The pine I shelter under is their home
There I sat and watched it all

Never before have I seen such beauty
    When the snow falls
Now I always sit under my spruce when a winter storm is near
Such beauty, when I sit and watch it all
